About Dr David Vickers

Dr David Vickers is a Consultant Paediatrician and Medical Director with Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust. He also works as Medical Director of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. His clinical work has included disability and child safeguarding but currently he focuses on paediatric palliative care, post covid syndrome and ME/CFS (and has provided a clinical service for the latter since 2005). He has a Diploma in Palliative Medicine. David was Chair of the NICE Guidelines Development Group that produced “End of life care for infants, children and young people with life-limiting conditions: planning and management” (NG61) in 2016. David has also been a Trustee of Together for Short Lives. He has served as Registrar, Treasurer and Trustee of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. David also provides independent clinical advice to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and is National Clinical Lead, Children’s Palliative Care, NHS England.
