Morning Session: Supporting Children and Young People with ME/CFS and Long Covid

The morning session will focus on supporting children and young people (CYP) living with ME/CFS and Long Covid across key stages of their educational journey. Presentations will explore the challenges and opportunities involved in supporting young people through primary school, secondary school, sixth form, and the transition to university. Led by experienced professionals from both healthcare and education, the sessions will provide practical guidance, including an overview of relevant statutory frameworks and best practice approaches. The programme will also feature valuable insights from children, young people, and their families, ensuring that lived experience and the voices of those directly affected are at the heart of the discussion.

Afternoon Session: Supporting Adults with ME/CFS and Long Covid in Work, Career Planning and Vocational Rehabilitation

The afternoon session will focus on supporting adults living with ME/CFS and Long Covid to remain in work, return to work safely, or explore career redirection when needed. Presentations will examine the practical, legal and occupational considerations involved in sustaining employment, navigating sickness absence, planning phased returns, and reshaping roles to reduce risk and maximise long‑term stability. Drawing on expertise from healthcare professionals, disability specialists and ACAS, the programme will provide clear, actionable guidance on best practice, statutory frameworks, and effective employer engagement. Lived experience contributions will highlight the realities of working with fluctuating conditions, ensuring that the voices of those directly affected continue to shape understanding, policy and practice.
