BACME Tube Feeding Survey Report and future Guidelines

September 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Virtual Event
Free

Many people with ME/CFS experience nutrition-related difficulties, and for a small number these can progress to severe malnutrition requiring tube feeding. There is currently no ME/CFS-specific guidance for the provision of tube feeding, and people with ME/CFS and their carers report difficulties accessing timely, appropriate and well-informed care.

To address the limited published evidence in this area, BACME conducted a survey in 2025 exploring experiences of tube feeding among people with ME/CFS, carers and clinicians. The findings have been brought together in a comprehensive report, which will be published on the BACME website in early September.

This webinar will share key findings and recommendations from survey.

We will highlight the challenges identified, reflect on what can be learned from the experiences shared, and consider what improvements are needed in clinical care.

The second part of the webinar will be an open discussion exploring how we can develop future ME/CFS nutrition guidance and what this should include.

The webinar is open to all BACME members. A small number of places will also be reserved for non-member clinicians with an interest in this area. BACME members are encouraged to share details of the webinar with interested colleagues, who can contact BACME at info@bacme.info to enquire about attending.
