About Nigel Lewis-Carpenter

I’m a parent of my 23-year-old daughter who has CFS/ME, and for the past year I have been a member of the Exeter CFS/ ME carers group in Devon.

During my 29 years as a builder and 24 years as a professional youth worker, I was the Health and Safety Rep for Unite the Union and a Trustee/Volunteer for various arts organisations. In these roles I gained a variety of valuable campaigning skills, which I am now using to educate and represent carers of people with CFS/ME. This is my main goal in getting involved with BACME. I am also currently a trustee and treasurer for The Great Torrington Building Preservation Trust looking after our historical town hall.
